Jerry Wilson featured in Sioux Falls Argus Leader

22 09 2008

Jerry Wilson, author of Waiting for Coyote’s Call: An Eco-Memoir from the Missouri River Bluff is featured in the Sioux Falls Argus Leader today.

The article focuses on the work he and his wife and family have done on their property in their attempts to live in harmony with the land. Of course, his book goes into far more detail, but this article is an excellent primer, and the multimedia links are worth checking out as well.

Enjoyable time in Colorado Springs

22 09 2008

The Press exhibited its books at the Mountain and Plains Independent Booksellers Association Trade Show in Colorado Springs this past week.

Congratulations to MPIBA for an enjoyable and successful show. The Press found its books well received and many of those in attendance learned about SDSHS Press for the first time.

This week we’ll be at the Midwest Booksellers Association Trade Show in Saint Paul, MN. We’re looking forward to a similar experience. We’ll also be at the South Dakota Festival of Books, in Sioux Falls, SD, so if you are attending either show, please stop by our booth to say hello.

Off to the Regional Trade Shows

16 09 2008

Busy couple of weeks coming up here for the Press. We’re off to Colorado Springs, CO and Saint Paul, MN for two regional trade shows. This is a great chance to show independent booksellers what we’ve been doing and to let them know what they can expect in the future. We’ll be picking out our best titles for them, displaying everything we have in our booths, and giving away plenty of freebies as well.

In other news, our remaining three books are in transit to us and we should be receiving them any day now. So if you have been waiting for The Prairie-Dog Prince, The South Dakota State Capitol or The Jumping-Off Place, the wait is almost over.
